How It Works

A defined process. No open-ended commitment.

Every engagement follows the same structure. You know what happens at each stage, what you receive and what it costs before anything is committed.

1
15 to 20 minutes

Discovery Call

A short call to understand your situation. Not a sales pitch. Not a demo. A conversation to find out whether there is a genuine fit before either of us commits time to anything else.

I will ask about the technology or AI decisions you are facing, what you have already tried and what the problem is costing you. You should ask whatever you need to ask about how I work and whether this is the right approach for your business.

Both sides decide whether to proceed. If the fit is not there, I will say so. If you are not ready, that is fine too. The call costs nothing and there is no follow-up pressure.

What happens on the call

Your situation

The specific technology or AI decision you are facing and what has been tried so far.

The cost of inaction

What the problem costs if nothing changes in the next 12 months.

Fit assessment

Whether the problem is one I can fix and whether the timing is right to fix it.

Next steps

If there is a fit, we agree the scope for the free audit. If not, the call ends with no obligation.

AI Readiness Audit

The audit is the foundation of everything that follows. It is not a generic template applied to every business regardless of context. It is scoped based on what was learned on the Discovery Call and focused on the decisions your business is facing right now.

I assess your business against each rung of the AI Readiness Ladder. Strategy, governance, staff training, data, architecture, process and automation. Each rung gets a maturity score. The gaps that are costing you the most get identified and prioritised.

The audit is free because you do not know me yet and I do not know your business. It exists to build trust and establish whether there is a real problem I can fix. The revenue comes from the implementation. There is no hidden agenda.

What the audit covers

Strategy Rung 1
Governance Rung 2
Staff Training Rung 3
Data Rung 4
Architecture Rung 5
Process Rung 6
Automation Rung 7

Format: Conducted over Teams or in person. Typically takes one to two sessions depending on the size and complexity of your business.

Yours to keep

Findings Presentation

Everything found in the audit is presented back to you. Your maturity score against each rung, the gaps that are costing you the most and a prioritised list of what to fix first. No jargon. No 80-page report that sits in a drawer. A clear picture you can act on.

The findings are yours regardless of what happens next. If you take them away and fix the problems yourself, that is a good outcome. I would rather you fixed the problem than felt obliged to pay me to fix it.

Most of the time, the biggest finding is not what the client expected. The problem they came in with is rarely the root cause. The audit finds what is underneath it.

Deliverable 1

Maturity Score

A score against each rung of the AI Readiness Ladder. You see where your foundations are solid and where they are not.

Deliverable 2

Gap Analysis

Which gaps are costing you the most, which carry the most risk and which must be addressed before anything else will work.

Deliverable 3

Prioritised Next Actions

What to fix first, what to fix next and what can wait. Your priorities before any new spend is committed.

4
Where relevant

Paid Engagement

If the audit identifies a clear problem with a clear fix and you want me to fix it, that is where paid work begins. If it does not, it does not. There is no obligation at any point in this process to move to a paid engagement.

The shape of the engagement depends on what the audit found. A Priority Fix Sprint takes the single highest-priority finding and delivers a defined outcome over 60 or 90 days. Fixed fee. Defined scope. A retainer is for ongoing strategic oversight where the problems are broader and the business needs technology leadership it does not have internally.

Pricing is not published because it depends on the size of the problem and the size of the business. That conversation happens here, face to face, based on what was found.

Engagement options

Priority Fix Sprint

The single highest-priority finding fixed over a defined 60 or 90 day period. Fixed fee. Defined scope. Defined outcome. You get a tangible result, not a document.

Strategic Retainer

Ongoing advisory. I guide, challenge, set direction and keep the roadmap honest. Your team executes. I attend key meetings, review decisions and course-correct when things drift.

Fractional CTO

I hold the technology leadership role inside your business. Board meetings. Named accountability. The full weight of a technology leader without the full-time salary.

Guarantee: Priority Fix Sprints carry a full refund guarantee. If the defined outcome agreed at the start is not delivered, you pay nothing. No argument, no paperwork.

What Makes This Different

Three things you will not get from a large consultancy.

The work does not get handed off.

What I find in the audit I found myself. What I recommend in a sprint I stay accountable for. There is no junior in the background following a guide. You deal with one person from the first call to the final delivery.

No vendor agenda.

I do not sell tools. I do not take undisclosed commissions. If a recommendation points toward a product, it is because the product fits the problem. Not because someone is paying me to point you there.

You can walk away at any point.

The free audit has no strings. The findings are yours to keep. The retainer is 30-day rolling with no lock-in. The sprint has a full refund guarantee. Every step is designed so you never feel trapped.

Start with a conversation.

30 minutes. No pitch. No obligation. Find out if there is a fit before either of us commits to anything.
